Abstract
This paper describes a hypermedia based intelligent system for design with particular reference to fluid film journal bearings. It is considered that this approach has potential for much wider application in design. The system was developed by integrating hypermedia, artificial intelligence and intelligent database technologies. together with conventional design techniques.
