Abstract
Scabies incognito is a rare disorder in the neonatal period with an unusual presentation of numerous mites.1Orkin M. Maibach H.I. Scabies and pediculosis.in: Freedberg I.M. Eisen A.Z. Wolff K. Scabies in infant and small children.Semin Dermatol. 1993; 12: 3PubMed Google Scholar Scabies may cause significant hypereosinophilia in the presence of mild reduction of immunity (eg, as from treatment with potent topical corticosteroid, abnormal leukocyte chemotaxis, and immature immune system in newborns). The presence of eosinophil peroxidase deficiency, a rare inherited anomaly, without evidence of disease3Walsh G.M. Infants with prolonged hypereosinophilia, regardless of etiology, may develop organ damage, especially cardiac.4Navajas A. Cardenal I. Pinan M.A. Ortiz A. Astigarraga I. Fdez-Teijeiro A.
