Abstract

A novel family of berylloborophosphates, M IBeBPO (M I = K +, Na + and NH 4 +) with the zeolite analcime (ANA) framework topology has been hydrothermally synthesized by using monovalent cations as the templates. The structure of KBeBP 2O 8·1/3H 2O (K-BBP-ANA) was solved by single-crystal X-ray diffraction and crystal data for K-BBP-ANA are: M=254.19, cubic, space group: P2 13, a=12.427(6) Å, V=1919.0(17) Å 3, Z=12, R 1=0.0768, Rw=0.1842. The compound is the first BeBPO 4 phase with zeolite-ANA structure, which is built of corner-sharing BeO 4, BO 4, and PO 4 tetrahedra. K-BBP-ANA has three-dimensional distorted eight-ring channels along the crystallographic [1 0 0], [0 1 0] and [0 0 1] directions. The framework charges of BBP-ANA are balanced by the monovalent cations in the channel. The X-ray powder diffraction patterns show the family of M IBeBPO (M I=K +, Na + and NH 4 +) are isostructural and their framework structures are thermally stable up to 800 °C.
