Abstract

Abstract A novel lead(II) coordination polymer [Pb(4-cca)]n (1) was prepared by the hydrothermal reaction of Pb(NO3)2 with 4-carboxycinnamic acid (4-H2cca) and structurally characterized. Single-crystal X-ray diffraction revealed that 1 has a 3D supramolecular architecture constructed by 2D [Pb(COO)2]n layers pillared by –Ph–CH CH– spacers. The thermal and luminescent properties of 1 in the solid state were also investigated.
