Abstract

Two novel organic-inorganic hybrid polyoxometalate supra molecular compounds have been prepared through hydrothermal synthesis methods, namely [bphx][Mo6O19] (1) and [bphx]3[H2W12O40]·3H2O (2) [bphx = 1,6-bis(pyridinium)hexane], and characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction, IR spectroscopy, and thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA). The results indicate that these compounds are composed of isolated organic cation and inorganic anion by electrostatic interaction. The molybdenum oxide cluster [Mo6O19]2− anion in compound 1 is Lindqvist structure, and the tungsten oxide cluster anion in compound 2 is the classical Keggin-type.
