Abstract
1. A study was made of the reaction for the hydrolysis polycondensation of methyl-β-(3,4-epoxycy-clohexyl)ethyldiethoxysilane in the media: acetone — water, toluene — water, and acetone — aqueous KOH solution. 2. Hydrolysis in homogeneous medium, in the absence of alkali, goes slowly, while in the presence of KOH the hydrolysis rate increases noticeably with increase in the KOH concentration. 3. The kinetics of the hydrolysis at different temperatures was studied and it was shown that in all cases the hydrolysis reaction obeys the first-order equation. The activation energy of the reaction for various temperature intervals was determined.
