Abstract

The binding energies of the ground state and the low-lying excited states of the hydrogenic impurity in a GaAs-Ga1-xAlxAs superlattice in a magnetic field have been calculated by applying the method of one-dimensionalization and the effective-mass approximation. In the calculations, the effects due to the different effective masses of electrons in different materials are included. The results agree better with the experimental results than those of the calculation of a single quantum well.
