Abstract

Amorphous and partially crystallized samples of Ni 81P 19 were studied via electrochemical permeation tests at 313 K utilizing a 0.1 N NaOH electrolyte. The volume fraction of crystals obtained by an isothermal ageing treatment at 570 K, for different times, was determined from ferromagnetic resonance spectra at room temperature. The apparent hydrogen diffusion coefficient and the hydrogen permeability were found to decrease with increasing crystallized volume fraction, while the hydrogen solubility decreases for short heat treatment times and partially recovers for longer heat treatments.
