Abstract

The electrochemical hydrogen permeation method is used to determine the effective diffusivity, permeation rate and apparent solubility of hydrogen in pure iron at different temperatures. The experimental results reveal that the temperature of permeation experiment is influenced, in accordance with the literature. Furthermore, it is also shown that the steady-state current is influenced by a variation of the temperature. In a second step, a gas chromatography system is used to determine quantitatively the amount of hydrogen thermally desorbed.
