Abstract
The initiating ability of finely dispersed bimetallic particles in the polymerization reaction of 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate in polyvinylpyrrolidone presence is proven. The bimetal formation on the surface of ferrum particles was confirmed by the X-ray spectroscopic microanalysis results. The regularities of block polymerization of such compositions have been studied. The effect of metals nature, monomer and polyvinylpyrrolidone ratio, as well as the temperature on polymerization kinetics and “limit” monomer conversion was determined. Electrical conductivity based on physical and mechanical properties of filled composites has been researched. It was determined that (bi)metallic particles perform function as a (ferro)magnetically sensitive filler and polymerization initiator.
