Abstract
1. The introduction of silica gel into a homogeneous catalytic system for the hydroformylation of olefins containing hydrocarbonyltributylphosphinecobalt leads to the partial deactivation of the catalyst and a decrease in the selectivity due to binding of cobalt and the ligand by the surface hydroxyl groups. 2. The chemical binding of the silica gel OH group by the bidentate silylphosphine ligands permits modification of cobalt hydrocarbonyl to give a heterogeneous selective and stable catalyst for the hydroformylation of propylene.
