Abstract

The hydrodynamic properties of freshly synthesized polymethacryloyl lupinine methiodide have been investigated, and expressions relating [η], S 0 and D 0 to MW have been derived for a polymethacryloyl lupinine methiodide fraction in a 0·5 n aqueous solution of KCl. Lengths of the Kuhn segment based on the viscometric data and on the translational friction were similar and are in keeping with known values for polymers in which hydrophobic interaction between side functional groups takes place.
