Abstract

Abstract Hybrid micro-machining known as a fast-growing technology, which appears to be outperforming traditional processes, and opening new areas of application, has revolutionized microelectronics, medical device manufacturing and many more industries. The hybrid micro-machining processes have the capability to manufacture micro parts with a high degree of accuracy and repetition in almost any material possible. In this paper, concept of hybrid micro-machining process and its working principles as well as several key hybrid micro-machining techniques are reviewed. In order to understand the importance of hybrid micro-machining, future research direction and key challenges associated with hybrid micromachining are unfolded as well.
