Abstract

We propose a scheme of suboptimal low-complexity parallel interference cancellation (PIC) multiuser receivers for WCDMA frequency-selective Rayleigh fading channels. Users are divided into groups according to their spreading factors or their received signal power. Users with the lowest spreading factor (or the strongest power) will be detected first using non-linear PIC while users with the largest spreading factor (or the weakest power) will be detected last using linear PIC, subtracting interference regenerated by users with lower spreading factor (or the stronger power). In contrast to the conventional PIC receivers, simulation results denote that the proposed scheme is shown to better BER performance, only adding a subtracter.
