Abstract

The scattering of plane waves from zero-thickness perfectly conducting strips, surfaces and screens is a traditional topic of diffraction theory. However, a non-perfectly conducting structure such as an impedance strip is obviously of greater practical interest. We present the analytical-numerical method of solution of wave diffraction by an open circular impedance strip, which results in the algorithm with accuracy limited only by the computer's digital precision. Some numerical results are available on the plane H- and E-polarized wave scattering. These results are based on the regularisation approach using the dual series equations and so-called Riemann-Hilbert problem technique. We extend this approach to the impedance boundary condition on the strip.< <ETX xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">></ETX>
