Abstract
This report covers the research activity belonging to the topics of IAVCEI that has been carried out during the past four years period between 2007 and 2010. The most significant results were obtained in the geochemical, petrological and structural investigation of the young (mainly Miocene and Plio-Pleisticene) volcanism in the Carpathian-Pannonian Region, and in the complex study of the upper mantle xenoliths beneath this region. The research topics and new results will be presented according to the following classification:
