Abstract

This report is a collection of institutional and individual reports, edited by the Hungarian national delegates (J Verő: 2003–2004 and L Szarka: 2005–2006). In the reference lists the readers find papers published mainly between 2003 and 2006 in various geophysical journals (including journals edited in Hungary as Acta Geodaetica et Geophysica Hungarica, Geophysical Transactions, Magyar Geofizika, Foldtani Kozlony, etc.). The major IAGA-related conferences in Hungary between 2003–2006 were as follows: Ionosphere and Magnetosphere Seminars (Debrecen 2004, Sopron 2006), inversion workshops in Miskolc (2003, 2006), annual meetings of the Association of Hungarian Geophysicists, annual meetings of Young Geologists and Geophysicists, and such special meetings as e.g. the Earth Electromagnetism Meeting (Sopron 2003). The structure of this report follows more or less the structure of Hungarian activities in frames of IAGA. The numbering of chapters indicates the number of IAGA divisions, but the sections in the individual chapters does not follow exactly the structure of IAGA working groups. Instead, each of the chapters is subdivided into several sections, corresponding to the related Hungarian results. Several scientific results are described in Chapter V, under the observatory descriptions, where activities of two Hungarian geo-electromagnetic observatories: Nagycenk and Tihany are summarized. The list of participating institutions (with updated names and addresses) is as follows:
