Human Behavior Process in Train Station Fire Emergency Evacuation

Abstract

Railway station is a public place accumulated with thousands of passengers in China. It is every dangerous in case of fire. In this paper we study human emergency evacuation processes for making optimal emergency plan or importing new ideas in designing new stations. According to the human's different roles,this paper separate the people in the railway station into two parts: station staffs and passengers. Firstly, this paper discussed the fire response process and the operation network of the station leader and the general staff. Then we studied the influence of passenger's characteristics to the emergency evacuation process; analyzed the passenger's behavior in fire emergency evacuation; and established a Petri Net model of passenger's emergency evacuation process. This study provides useful information for making station emergency plans and the expansion or rebuilding of the station.
