Abstract

Breastfeeding is a natural process. Breastfeeding technique that really is a way of giving breast milk to the baby with the attachment and position of the mother and baby correctly. This study aims to determine the relationship between parity and the level of ksnowledge of breastfeeding mothers with correct breastfeeding techniques in the work area of ​​the Sialang Public Health Center. The design of this research is descriptive analytic with cross-sectional method. The population in this study were all breastfeeding mothers who were actively breastfeeding their babies aged 0-6 months in the work area of ​​the Siling Public Health Center with a sample of 33 people. Analysis of this data using the chi square test. The results of the study were obtained from 33 breastfeeding mothers. Half of the breastfeeding mothers were 10 people (30.3) with multiparity parity, while the other half were 4 people (12.1%) with primiparous parity. While the technique of breastfeeding mothers who are really small, namely 8 people (24.2%) with a sufficient level of knowledge while breastfeeding techniques for mothers who are not really half are 11 people (33.3%) with a lack of knowledge. the results of statistical tests using the chi square test obtained p-value = 0.275 > 0.05, meaning that there is no significant relationship between parity and breastfeeding technique. the results of statistical tests using the chi square test obtained p-value = 0.002 <0.05, meaning that there is a significant relationship between the level of knowledge and techniques of breastfeeding mothers.
