Abstract

Pathways of care are evidence-based treatment protocols established to deliver value-based care in oncology. Payer organizations and hospital systems utilize positive incentives, such as ratings and financial bonuses, as well as negative incentives such as cost penalties to enforce pathways. Pathways are emerging across oncology but may affect providers across specialties differently. In this research, we aimed to understand how the influence of pathways differs for oncologists compared to hematologists.
