Abstract

A validated RP-HPC method was developed for the simultaneous assay of methocarbamol (MTC) and paracetamol (PAR) in their combined tablets. A validated HPLC method was developed for the assay of them. The method was performed on BDS HYPERSIL C18 column (250 x 4.6 mm, 5 μ) and the mobile phase was consisted of a mixture of methanol : water (60:40, v/v) at 278 nm and a flow rate of 1.4 ml/min at ambient temperature. Under these conditions, Paracetamol and Methocarbamol eluted at 2.8, 6.1 minutes respectively. Calibration curve was obeyed in the range of (20–160) μg/ ml for Methocarbamol or (16.25–130) μg/ ml for Paracetamol. The proposed method was validated in terms of linearity, accuracy, precision and limits of detection and quantitation according to ICH.
