Abstract

This study was designed to investigate the prevalence of sexual dysfunction among Arab males living in Saudi Arabia, The Data about this problem is poorly investigated in Arab societies. The cross-sectional study was done during the year 2016 between January and June, including 230 (115 saudi-115 nonsaudi) married males who are 20 - 70 years old live in Saudi Arabia, study was conducted among patients attending for follow up and Treatment at Motmaena medical psychiatric center in Riyadh city. The respondents completed the Brief Sexual Symptom Checklist for Men to assess sexual desire, erectile dysfunction, ejaculatory and orgasmic dysfunctions, penile curvature and pain during sex. The prevalence of males not satisfied with their sexual function was 43.4% and highly prevalent in non-Saudi males 55% Than Saudi males 45%. Premature ejaculation is leading problem 27% and highly prevalent in the age of 20-30 years and followed by problems with little or no interest in sex 25% and highly prevalent in the age above 50 years and followed by others 20% and problems with erection 15%, Then Problems taking too long, or not being able to ejaculate or have orgasm 8%. The little problem is problems with pain during sex 2% followed by problems with penile curvature during erection 3%. The 72% of males are ready to talk about those problems with their doctor and highly prevalent in Saudi males and in the age of 20 to 30 years, but the age of 41 to 50 years who are the little age to talk about sex problem, and 28% of participant males of study not ready to talk about sex problem with their doctor and highly prevalent in non-Saudi males and the age above 51 years are the most age not ready to talk about sex problem.
