Abstract
On the basis of the theoretical studies and practical experiences of the author as university teacher, researcher, and practicing engineer made during 50 years of his professional life, the contemporary general position of engineering sustainability has been presented and its practical observance at the Gdansk University of Technology characterized. Due to the complex notion of sustainability, a broad review of the world of technology is essential.
