Abstract
The article discusses a coordinate measuring machine as a quality control tool in an industrial enterprise. The history of creation, structure, operating principle of coordinate measuring machines, their classification by design, controlled parameters, and areas of application in various industries are described. The factors influencing the quality of control of measured products are given. The results of measurements on coordinate measuring machines are considered from the point of view of their influence on the optimization of production processes, and arguments are also given in favor of a coordinate measuring machine as one of the profit centers of the enterprise.
