Abstract

This article seek to analyze and to describe the results obtained through the implementation of a Manufacturing Execution System (MES) and how this appliance can contribute to the improvement of the methodology Shop Floor Management (SFM) and increasing the productivity. The present case study was accomplished in a foundry company, the methodology used was the qualitative research with exploratory feature. Through the MES system and elements of methodology SFM, the organization of this case study can gather data and obtain information in real time of your productive resources, in this way the company can identify the main reasons of inefficiencies and take actions about them. The monitored sector obtains positive results in production management and significant increases in productivity.
