Abstract

This article discusses the six most common emotional responses that patients have to illness and hospitalization. Healthcare providers should recognize and respond to these emotional reactions by acknowledging patients’ feelings, answering their questions, and allowing them to participate in their treatment as much as possible. By understanding and responding to these emotional responses, healthcare providers can provide better care for their patients and improve patient outcomes.
