Abstract
That paper presents the results of a research program aimed at the internal protection of desalination cells via paint. It is shown that it is possible to protect a carbon steel structure from the aggressive environment formed by salt water at a temperature up to 120°C. It is expected that a limited maintenance programme will be needed taking into account a life expectancy of 5 years without any defect.
