Abstract

Abstract In this work, we studied the hot plastic deformation behavior of low carbon multi-microalloyed steel by the single-pass compression test and the effect of deformation on following microstructure after constant cooling rate. The results showed that this experimental steel has high dynamic recrystallization conditions, such as the deformation temperature higher than 1000 °C even at the low strain rate of 0.1 s-1. The lower deformation temperature is in favor of enhancing the formation of acicular ferrite. It is surprising to find that a part of recrystallized grains are formed at the deformation temperature of 1000 °C with 0.5 and 5 s-1 stress rate, even though the true stress-strain curves show the dynamic recovery type.
