Abstract

An aluminium alloy Al/SiC-B4C hybrid nanocomposite is fabricated using a stir casting process and its hot deformation behavior is analyzed. The flow behavior is observed by conducting hot compression tests and the softening mechanisms are studied using microstructural analysis. An artificial neural network-based model is developed to estimate the flow stress value for different strain, strain-rate, and temperature conditions. The model predicted values are found to be accurate over the entire range of input processing parameters across different deformation zones.
