Abstract
Horticulture is a unique treatment medium in that it entails the use of living material, thus paralleling human growth and development. It is an ongoing occupation which, if used appropriately, can be therapeutic, creating fun and enjoyment as well as social and recreational opportunities for people of all ages. In this article the therapeutic value of horticulture is explored through four case studies, each of which highlights different therapeutic experiences.
