Abstract

In the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, digital and internet-based manufacturing technologies in the context of smart production have become the future trends in the industry. Businesses have to upgrade their manufacturing systems to retain their market position. Considering the tremendous amount of data produced during the process, data management becomes a critical and fundamental aspect of the revolution. The main objective of this research is to devise a practical approach to achieving horizontal integration of data between stakeholders in the steel industry and build an audition system to extract and collect data from non-destructive testing reports. The audition system included a database management system for high efficiency and secure storage of data in the database and a graphic user interface to establish real-time data connectivity between the database and users. The system is tested under a simulated industrial environment. Further functionalities and testing are still needed to achieve the horizontal integration of data throughout the entire Steel Industry.
