Abstract
This chapter contains examples of business innovators that represent new markets for horizontal industries that are supporting the customer's new voice relative to managing and monetizing the customer's personal information as a personal enabler and asset. These innovators are examined as distinct emerging markets from a horizontal industry perspective (e.g., collaborative consumption, quantified self, wearable technology, mobile health, Internet of Things, sensor technology, virtual reality, and augmented reality). The rapid growth of these distinct market segments shows no signs of abating and continues to rapidly accelerate in transforming the customer's and consumer's world into one where the information that they have sharing discretion over is far more valuable to both themselves and organizations than the information that they incidentally create and that is available publicly.
