Abstract

Parallels between Homer’s “Odyssey” and J. Conrad’s “Heart of Darkness” Summary Homer and Joseph Conrad are two very different figures from history and literature. While they come from different eras and wrote about different subjects, it is possible that Conrad was influenced in some way by Homer's works as a fellow author who drew from the literary canon of Western civilization. It is also possible that literary scholars have explored the connection between Conrad’s works and those of Homer, but further research would be needed to say for certain.
