Abstract

This article is about the process of creation, reception, and musical analysis of the Homenaje a Federico Garcia Lorca, the first musical work dedicated to the Andalusian poet, composed in 1936 by Silvestre Revueltas. Their analysis shows the features of neo-nationalistic musical style of Revueltas, by his profound transformation of folk music and indigenous tunes of Mexico.
