Abstract
Home Range Characteristics of the Released Female Milu (Père David’s Deer, Elaphurus davidianus) Population during Different Periods and Effects of Water Submersion in Dongting Lake, China
Highlights
Authors’ Contribution XL and HL designed the study and prepared the manuscript
L-carnitine (β-OH-γ-N, N, N-trimethylaminobutyric acid) is a small compound that is synthesized in supplementation with moderate concentrations of L-carnitine can be beneficial for increasing growth rate vivo from lysine and methionine with the assistance of and decreasing body lipid content in some species such as vitamin C and other secondary substrates generated in African catfish, Clarias gariepinus (Ozório et al, 2001), the body (Harpaz, 2005)
A growth-enhancing effect of the appropriate levels of L-carnitine supplementation was found in softshelled turtles, which is in agreement with results obtained in some marine and freshwater species (Becker et al, 1999; Chatzifotis et al, 1995; Ma et al, 2008; Santulli and d’Amelio, 1986; Torreele et al, 1993)
Summary
L-carnitine (β-OH-γ-N, N, N-trimethylaminobutyric acid) is a small compound that is synthesized in supplementation with moderate concentrations of L-carnitine can be beneficial for increasing growth rate vivo from lysine and methionine with the assistance of and decreasing body lipid content in some species such as vitamin C and other secondary substrates generated in African catfish, Clarias gariepinus (Ozório et al, 2001), the body (Harpaz, 2005). The present study is designed to evaluate the effects of dietary L-carnitine supplementation on growth performance, muscle composition and serum total cholesterol (TCHO), triglyceride (TG) and total protein (TP) concentrations of soft-shelled turtle. The mRNA levels of genes in liver including insulin-like growth factor 1 (igf1), superoxide dismutase 1 (sod1) and lipoprotein lipase (lpl) were examined by quantitative realtime PCR
