Abstract

The appearance and dislocation of the Molochniy and Utlukskiy friths within the territory of the Northwestern Preazov region have determined their geological development and geo-ecological state. The prediction of further existence of the friths of Preazov groups (Molochniy and Utlukskiy) fully depends on many factors and data. It has to be said that both the research and the availability of the factual material on the tectonics, geology, geological history, geomorphology of the territory are the most important ones. The aim of our research is to generalize the scientific and library materials on the tectonic structure; to study the geological structure; to specify the stages of the history of the Molochniy and Utlukskiy friths’ geological development; to research and to describe the geomorphological features of the friths’ coastal zone. In this article we show the results of our own geological research of the holocene (modern) deposits of the Molochniy and Utlukskiy friths’ water areas and adjacent territory. We’ve researched and described 11 genetic types of the holocene deposits, such as continental (eluvial, alluvial, alluvial-diluvial, proluvial, proluvial-deluvial, colluvial, diluvial-colluvial, eolian) deposits; marine and frith-marine deposits; technogenic deposits, their lithological structure, power, and position. The detailed information about the geological structure of the modern deposits of the Molochniy and Utlukskiy friths’ water areas and adjacent territory can be used as a foundation for the planning and location of engineering structures, drainage canals, spa resorts, agro-industrial facilities, agricultural lands.
