Abstract

Effectiveness of Virtual Reality (VR) training in the industrial training is still a controversial issue among industrialists and experts, despite the fact that VR is capable and powerful. To emphasize the ability of industrial VR training, we propose a holistic evaluation framework that proofs effectiveness of using VR technology in industrial training. The framework includes the process of VR content preparation, data collection methods, and data evaluation methods. We collected the trainees’ activity data within the VR system and analyzed it with ANCOVA and Cosine Similarity methods. The results showed that the use of VR technology in industrial training could improve the trainees’ skills significantly.
