Abstract

The society has changed greatly since the first meeting in 1889 of the American Association of Economic Entomologists. When President C. V. Riley called that group to order in Washington, D.C., the association numbered 105 members. By 1908, one year after the founding of the old Entomological Society of America by J. H. Comstock, AAEE had about 350 members and ESA had some 500 members.
