Abstract

![Graphic][1] It is truly an exciting time to be actively involved in the Entomological Society of America (ESA), particularly in light of past and current initiatives moving us into the future. These initiatives include making ESA a global leader in entomology, increasing the influence of entomology in national public policy making, and supporting the ability of all members to be engaged with the Society. The fantastic leadership we have seen over the past several years has moved ESA in the right direction for all members. Your Annual Meeting Program Committee has already begun work for Entomology 2015, which will present some interesting and exciting opportunities as we co-locate in Minneapolis with the American Society of Agronomy, the Crop Science Society of America, and the Soil Science Society of America. This will likely be one of the largest gatherings ESA has experienced in quite some time. Please come prepared for a very interactive meeting with our brethren in agricultural sciences; however, we will continue our regularly scheduled events, symposia, student competitions, section meetings, and Linnaean Games.
