Abstract
Materials and methods. Analysis of domestic and foreign literature, which highlights the physiological significance chronorhythms and problems of desynchrony and historical stages. Main part. The role of the pineal gland and epiphyseal hormone melatonin in diurnal and seasonal rhythms, sleepactivity to date is undeniable. In animals and human melatonin secretion pineal gland coincides with normal sleep clock. There is a hypothesis that melatonin plays an important role role in opening the so-called gates of sleep and in inhibiting modes activity. Melatonin secretion is subordinate circadian rhythm. The concentration of the hormone in the blood maximum in the dark, minimum - in the light. Synthesis and the activity of the hormone increases after sunset, and the peak concentration is observed around 3 o'clock at night. Conclusions. Analysis of changes in chronorhythms and their inconsistencies helps identify: 1. New approaches to diagnosis, prevention and improvement of temporary schemes of medical measures at diseases of various forms. 2. The impact of desynchrony on organs and body systems. 3. The role of mechanisms of adaptation of the organism to environment.
