Abstract

History is a foundation subject in the National Curriculum in the United Kingdom, but it takes rather different forms in the component parts of the UK: for example, the History Curriculum in England is different from the History Curriculum in Wales, and that in turn is different from the History Curriculum in Northern Ireland. In the interests of clarity, if not of comprehensiveness, the discussion in this chapter will be confined to the situation in England.
