Abstract
Since 31 October 2015, the 21 German-speaking cantons have at their disposal the new and shared curriculum ‘Lehrplan 21’ (abbrev. LP21) for the compulsory nine years of school – at least on paper and online. Anyhow, each canton decides itself, following its own rules and laws, whether it will introduce this curriculum as it is, with alterations, or adapted to special cantonal needs. Gaining a simple overview over the curriculum situation in the German-speaking part of Switzerland is still a complicated task. This text gives a presentation of the LP21’s propositions concerning civic and historical learning on the secondary I level.
