Sand, Worker Poet (1847-1855) Sand constituted herself as a worker poet, which relates to a childhood memory where she would use her hands to undo the straw of the chairs penning her in while inventing long stories, with masculine garb, a first name linked to the folklore of Berry, and her version of figures such as Orpheus.
