Abstract

A histochemical investigation was carried out on subcommissural organs from 28 human foetuses with crown-rump lenths ranging from 28 mm to 167 mm. The human foetal subcommissural organ (SCO) consists of a characteristic, high columnar epithelium covering the anterior-inferior surface of the posterior commissure.
