Abstract
High-temperature platinum resistance thermometers (HTPRTs) developed in the previous work were applied as temperature control sensor of a high-temperature furnace. A furnace equipped with this HTPRT and digital control system was constructed. The temperature stability of the furnace was found to be better than 1 mK in the temperature range from 920 /spl deg/C to 1000 /spl deg/C. A resolution of 1 mK can be achieved for temperature setting with stability of a few tenth of a mK at that temperature range, which is ten times better than the conventional furnace control by applying thermocouples.
