Abstract

The γ-ray spectrum from the 175Lu(α, 2n)177Ta reaction is investigated at four angles relative to the incident beam and a search is made for isomeric transitions. The rotational bands which are built on the Nilsson states 72+ [404], 52+ [402], 92− [514] and 12− [541] are observed and their moment of inertia parameters discussed. A three-quasiparticle isomer with spin and parity tentatively suggested as 212− is identified at an excitation energy of 1355.0 keV.
