Abstract
We demonstrate a high-speed tunable laser using photonic wire bonds (PWB) as intra-cavity coupling elements. The laser includes a silicon wavelength-selective cavity with two Micro-rings resonators (MRRs) using PIN junction, and a reflection semiconductor optical amplifier (RSOA) as the gain elements. A tuning time of 8.7ns was experimentally demonstrated, and output power of 10mW was achieved by low loss PWB technique .
