Abstract

A high-resolution X-ray CCD camera based on YAG:Ce thin scintillator is presented. High resolution in low-energy X-ray radiation range was achieved on several objects. The spatial resolution attained in the images is several μ m . The present high resolution imaging system is a combination of a highly sensitive digital CCD camera and an optical system with a thin scintillator screen. The screen is formed by the YAG:Ce inorganic scintillators. These materials have the advantages of the mechanical and chemical stability as well as being non-hygroscopic. The presented work compares the resolution of images taken using single crystal or taken using the P43 phosphor screen Gd 2 O 2 S : Tb (GOS). The objects used for imaging are grids and small animals with parts of several μ m .
