Abstract
We present the first results of our spectroscopic measurements of nearby young stars with ages between few Myrs until few hundreds Myrs. Our sample consists of 98 stars in nearby young associations and 54 field young stars. We measured the Lithium 6708 A equivalent width, which is a good age indicator for our targets. Furthermore, we measured stellar radial velocities by using a crosscorrelation technique. From the equivalent widths of Fe and other metallic lines, we determined the spectral type, effective temperature, surface gravity (log g) and metallicity [Fe/H]. Based on our radial velocity measurements and the shape of the line profiles we detected stars in binary/multiple systems. At least a binarity fraction of 45% of the young stars in our sample has been found. From the crosscorrelation functions we computed the projected rotational velocity. We found that around 57% of young stars among our sample have v sin i lower than 20 km/s.
