Abstract

Rotational analysis of the w 1Δ u → a 1Π g system of 14N 2 has been extended to include the vibrational levels of the w 1Δ u state ( v = 4 → 8) and the a 1Π g state ( v = 3 → 6), respectively. Recently the spectrum has been recorded at high resolution with better experimental conditions, by Fourier transform spectrometry in the spectral range 4500–6000 cm −1, in order to obtain more experimental data. The molecular parameters of these states are obtained by a complete fitting procedure. Derived values of equilibrium constants are deduced. RKR potential energy curves for the two states are constructed, and the Franck-Condon factors calculated for the w → a system.
